Biography

After completing his MA at Goldsmiths, London, Jacob Foan wrote, starred, and produced the musical film Don’t Let Go. He played Tom – a young man in a wheelchair trying to tell the woman he loves how he feels. The gamble paid off, earning critical attention and leading to work across North America.

In Los Angeles, Jacob was announced winner of the international TV talent competition ISINA, chosen from over 30,000 global applicants. Mentored by Grammy-winner Walter Afanasieff (My Heart Will Go On, Hero), the experience shaped his creative voice – turning an unseen victory into a deeper exploration of belonging, resilience, and second chances.

Jacob’s acting work includes The Butterfly Effect, Written in Blood, and Tropikos, as well as his comic turn in ABC/Disney’s hit TV show Galavant.

After four years in Vancouver and LA, Jacob returned to the UK in 2023, having voiced the Amazon Audible audiobook Presence.

Now back home, he’s developing the romantic drama Pyjama Man – a music-driven story about a washed-up rock star who finds redemption and connection in the unlikeliest of places.

‘Don’t Let Go’ – Covent Garden screening:

“The chemistry between Jacob Foan and Annie Kirkman was really moving … a small film with a big message.”

‘Presence’ – Amazon Audible narration:

“Jacob Foan’s perfect narration keeps a steady rhythm that adds to the atmosphere…”

BBC Introducing, Tom Robinson

“Within six seconds his spinetingling voice has kicked in, and by ten we know we’re in the presence of greatness. If art can be defined as ‘the process by which we encode experience in order to share it with others’ then Jacob is a very fine artist indeed.”

BBC Radio 2 – Richard Madeley

“Such a unique voice.”

Walter Afanasieff (Grammy Winning Producer) for ISINA TV Show

“You can hear the passion and the compassion in his voice … by far the most genius thing I’ve heard in years.”

‘Live at Cates Park’ Concert, Vancouver

“To breathe new life into an old classic can be a challenge,
but it’s one that fits Foan’s wheelhouse.
A soaring, emotional tenor.”
